St.Paul's Church

St Pauls school has very close links with St Pauls Church.

Father John Connell was licensed as our new Parish Priest by the Bishop of Reading on Saturday 30th April at St. Paul's.

As a friend of the school, Father John is a frequent visitor and plays an active part in the daily life of St. Paul's School. He leads whole school assembly every Wednesday morning and meets with the Headteacher on a weekly basis. Father John enjoys supporting staff in delivering the RE curriculum, providing expert advice and visiting classrooms. He particularly enjoys working alongside the children, helping them with their learning and alongside the Headteacher is looking for new ways in which to strengthen the links between the parish and the school.

Father John is part of our "Healthy Schools" Workforce, specifically looking at "Emotional Health & Well-Being". His role is to ensure that children have access to and are aware of the pastoral system and that they know how to seek help if they are upset or troubled. This is a confidential pastoral support system which is in place for pupils and staff who need access to advice especially at times of bereavement and other major life changes.

Father John is also a school Governor.
